Gateway Exams

If you have not taken the required high school course(s) or achieved the grades you need to enrol in an introductory mathematics or statistics course, you may be interested in writing a Gateway Exam.

If you pass the Gateway Exam for MATH 114, MATH 160, STAT 151 OR STAT 161, you will meet the prerequisites for that course.

When deciding between taking the prerequisite course or writing the exam, remember that while successful completion of a Gateway Exam allows you to complete a prerequisite more quickly, a course-based prerequisite tends to prepare you more fully.
