Dr. Ion Bica is an associate professor of mathematics at MacEwan University, Edmonton, Alberta. He received his PhD at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, and he started working at MacEwan University in 2000 as a part-time instructor. He obtained a full-time position in 2003, and since then Dr. Bica has been active in teaching, research and service activities.
Available to supervise senior students' independent study.
Teaching and Research Interests
In addition to his regular teaching assignments, Dr. Bica’s specialized teaching interests are in the field of differential equations, the area in which he obtained his PhD. Dr. Bica’s research interests are in nonlinear waves and applications of differential equations in biology, conservation biology and population ecology.
