Dr. Franczak received a BScH and a PhD in statistics from the University of Guelph in Febrary 2010 and June 2014, respectively. From July 2014 – June 2016, he held a position as a postdoctoral fellow at McMaster University and from July 2016 onward he has held a position as an assistant professor (statistics) at MacEwan University. At MacEwan, Dr. Franczak has taught a wide variety of statistics courses at the first, second and third year level. In addition, he has maintained an active research program featuring multiple MacEwan students working on methodological projects in cluster analysis as well as applied projects in sports science and chemistry.
Available to supervise senior students' independent study.
Teaching and Research Interests
Dr. Franczak is interested in teaching a variety of statistics courses. Most recently, his focus has been on topics in computational statistics and regression analysis using generalized linear models. In addition, he has been active in helping to re-model the first-year statistics course, STAT151, and has offered fourth-year reading courses in specialized topics like cluster analysis.
