Cristina Anton has two PhDs—one from the University of Alberta (Applied Mathematics) and one from the Center for Mathematical Statistics of the Romanian Academy (Probability and Statistics). At MacEwan University, she is teaching both Mathematics and Statistics courses and she has supervised undergraduate and graduate students for several research projects. Her current research interest is in numerical schemes for stochastic differential equations. Previously she has studied bifurcation problems for random dynamical systems and mixture models using various approaches: non-linear time series, hidden Markov chains, the Kalman filter and its generalizations, the EM algorithm, the Gibbs sampler.
Available to supervise senior students' independent study.
