Book of the Year: Faculty Panel Discussion

Thu, Mar 15 2018

Join us for a discussion of this year's MacEwan Book of the Year, Love Enough by Dionne Brand. Faculty members Constanza Pacher (Design Studies), Jack Robinson (English), and Kalyani Thurairajah (Sociology) will discuss Dionne Brand's novel and how they read it through the lenses of their particular disciplines.

The annual MacEwan Book of the Year faculty panel discussion is a terrific opportunity for students, staff, and faculty reading the novel to hear it discussed from a variety of different angles.

All are welcome to attend this free public event.

Since its inception in 1997, the Book of the Year program has been guided by a committee of faculty, staff and students. Each year, a work of contemporary Canadian fiction is chosen by the committee from nominations by the university community. The committee bases its selection on the book's appeal and its potential to generate interest and discussion at MacEwan University.

The Book of the Year is sponsored by MacEwan University's Centre for the Advancement of Faculty Excellence (CAFE), the Department of English, the Library, the mStore, as well as the Students' Association of MacEwan University (SAMU) and the Edmonton Public Library.
