MacEwan University understands that the COVID-19 pandemic is a trying time for all students and Albertans. We have heard from many MacEwan students about their challenges — loss of jobs, inability to find summer employment, food security issues, inability to pay rent, mental health concerns and so much more. To help ease some of the financial burden, MacEwan has established the new COVID-19 Relief Bursary for its students.
To apply for the COVID-19 Relief Bursary or to find out if you qualify, navigate to the Financial Aid tile in myStudentSystem at myPortal.MacEwan.ca.
“MacEwan is proud of the many ways that we support student success. We also understand the need to provide additional support measures during this unprecedented period,” says Kevin Fitzgerald, associate vice-president, Alumni and Development. “This fund will help to alleviate short-term financial hardships for many of our students.”
The COVID-19 Relief Bursary is made possible through the generosity of donors and by redirecting unspent funds from scholarships, awards and bursaries. The bursary will support qualified full-time students based on financial need, while funds allow.
The deadline to apply is April 30. Recipients will receive funds three weeks after the application deadline.
