MacEwan students test out their big ideas on the school-aged set

Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) students had the chance to test out their big ideas with school-age children from Monarch Child Care Society located in Victoria School for the Arts in an action-packed, hour-long workshop that happened during last week’s Teachers’ Convention.

As the 6- to 12-year-olds made their way through about 20 different carefully planned and prepared experiences – challenges, puzzles, games, art and experiments – the MacEwan students interacted with the children, and observed and documented their reactions.

Faculty members Carolyn Parkes and Rhonda Fischer say it was the perfect opportunity not only for ELCC students to engage with older children, but also to connect with our community.
