MacEwan’s Open House (pictured here) is held every November. It’s a great way to get to know the university and explore its programs – but it’s not the only way. Info Session Weeks run February 4 to 9 and March 4 to 9.
Info Session Week runs February 4 to 9

This week, MacEwan University faculty and staff are set to host more than 40 Info Session Week events for close to 1,000 people planning their post-secondary futures.
Whether you’re a student graduating this year or someone who’s been out in the workforce for a while, know exactly what you want to do or have no idea, talking to faculty and staff who work in areas you think you might be interested in is a good place to start, says David Fischer, team lead, student recruitment.
“Info Session Week is a chance to see what it’s really like in a particular program, the courses you’ll be taking, the projects you’ll be working on, admission requirements and career potential,” he says. “Students succeed when they’re in a program that fits their goals and aspirations, and attending Info Session Week can help solidify your decision or point you in the right direction.”
Since September, David and the university’s team of recruiters have spoken to more than 88,000 high school students about their post-secondary plans – and they always suggest a campus visit for Open House or Info Session Week.
“It’s a great opportunity to check out the campus and get a sense of what it would be like to be a student here,” he says.
