Michael Stock has been teaching in the department of Biological Sciences at MacEwan University for 22 years, and was the Chair of the department from 2001 until 2004. Michael did graduate work in the Department of Zoology at the University of Alberta and received a M.Sc degree for research on the ecology of animal parasites in deer and a PhD for research on community ecology and evolution of intestinal parasites of grebes (water birds) and taught at the University of Alberta and at Augustana before going to MacEwan University.

At MacEwan, Michael has taught a number of courses in biology and is part of a teaching team that takes students to study the amazon rainforest in eastern Ecuador. Michael has supervised several students doing independent research studies of the ecology of parasites and the host-parasite relationship.
