Experienced professionals working in the industry, including horticulturalists, scientists and marketing specialists, will provide an overview of the successes and continual challenges within the rapidly expanding cannabis market. This training series can also help anyone who works in a highly regulated industry, not just people who work in the cannabis industry.

Indigenous Knowledge Series

The series includes two courses. In Writing and Editing Indigenous Work, you will go through readings, discussions and explorations of past as an introduction to the complexities of working with writing by and about Indigenous peoples. Non-Indigenous editors and writers will learn how to work with Indigenous stories in a way that is culturally appropriate and helps ensure that books that accurately reflect Indigenous peoples in Canada are published.

In Introduction to Cree Worldview, MacEwan’s Indigenous Knowledge Keeper Roxanne Tootoosis will share some of the oral traditional teachings on Cree culture and historical content on Canada’s First Peoples. The session will begin with a smudge ceremony, and there will be an opportunity for participants to engage in dialogue in a circle process.
