Professional Responsibilities for Paramedicine

Paramedics are critical to the health care system each of them accountable for safe, compassionate, competent, and ethical practice. Professional practice is impacted by provincial/territorial regulations, standards of practice, common law and codes of ethics. Knowledge is exploding in all fields impacting health care. The application of evidence-informed care has increased the responsibilities of the profession. With increases in responsibility come concomitant increases in autonomy and authority. This course is an overview of the professional responsibilities and accountabilities of paramedics.
