Biography

For a decade, Rhea has partnered with the Edmonton and Canmore Folk Music Festivals to launch emerging careers by providing songwriters with the game-changing opportunity of performing at both prestigious festivals. She positions the artists for success by providing coaching in live performance, confidence, audience engagement, professionalism, goal setting and career planning.

Locally, Rhea has been the host of The Sunday Song Stage in Edmonton for 13 years. Currently running from Mill Creek Cafe, her all-ages open stage focuses on support and community building for Edmonton’s emerging and veteran musicians.

Rhea’s commitment to nurturing talent is the inspiration behind her weekly campus radio show aptly named, "It Takes a Village" on CJSR 88.5 FM. Rhea has also produced and hosted two 8-week features for CKUA Radio Network.

Her passion for mentorship and education is realized by teaching Managing in the Music Industry at MacEwan University. Rhea revised the curriculum to provide students with the tools they need to manage a sustainable career in the arts in the dawn of a digital era.

Rhea is proud to serve as Program Administrator with the Sarah McLachlan School of Music in Edmonton, an initiative that provides music and community to underserved youth.

Rhea regularly provides coaching and consultations to artists doing practicums at The Banff Centre as well as facilitating Performance Matters workshops throughout Alberta.
