Designs on the future

April 29, 2019 | Arts & Culture

With final exams officially over and convocation just around the corner, this year’s MacEwan grads are getting ready to trade their textbooks for diplomas and planning for grad school, career opportunities and whatever else life outside the classroom has in store for them.

But design grads have one more exciting step on the path to graduation: an exhibition of their finest work – ranging from print to photography to digital media and beyond – at the John and Maggie Mitchell Art Gallery.

The show, entitled Radix, runs until May 4, and is open to the public during gallery hours. The show kicked off with an industry viewing, allowing grads to show off their portfolios and meet with potential employers and industry contacts.

“I’m excited to see the students we’ve been working with over the last few years, and how far they’ve come,” says Robert Andruchow, chair, Art and Design. “We get to introduce them to the industry, which is a big moment for their careers.”

Take a look at the gallery below for some of the best work from the Design Studies class of 2019.
