Colette has has 30-plus years to nursing education and started teaching with the Faculty of Nursing at MacEwan University in 1984.. Since 2003, she has served as a Professional Resource Faculty and simulationist in undergraduate nursing and healthcare programs. She is currently the Director, Clinical Simulation Centre at MacEwan's City Centre Campus. Colette is a pioneer in simulation, with a global reputation in the field. She is passionate about Sim-IPE, patient safety, faculty development in simulation-based learning and in tool and resource development to bolster the integration of simulation learning outcomes. She is the recipient of several prestigious international and national awards for her local, national and international efforts in simulation.

Together with Dr. Kim Leighton, Colette co-edited and co-authored Simulation Champions: Fostering Courage, Caring and Connection (2017) and has authored numerous other publications. Her service to the discipline of nursing and healthcare education extends around the globe. She has contributed to the development of over 20 simulation programs and learning spaces worldwide and has also served on the board of directors of Sim-ONE, Canada’s National Simulation Network, and chaired the Nominations and Elections Sub-Committee for the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning.
