Dr. Fred McGinn
PhD (Southern Illinois University at Carbondale) Vocational Rehabilitation
Dr. Fred McGinn was appointed Dean of the Faculty of Health and Community Studies on August 1, 2016 and Interim Dean of the Faculty of Nursing on September 16, 2019.
He was previously an Associate Professor in the Dalhousie University Faculty of Health Professions where, for the past seven years, he was Director of the School of Health and Human Performance. Prior to assuming faculty duties at Dalhousie in 1999, Fred was an Assistant Professor at Assumption College in Worcester, Massachusetts.
As Dean of the Faculty of Health and Community Studies Fred provides leadership and guidance to foster an atmosphere of unity and cooperation among departments, faculty, staff and community members in support of academic excellence.
Fred holds a Ph.D. from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, an M.A. from Western Michigan University and a B.A. from Dalhousie University.
