Submit these required additional documents to the program office after you have received a letter of acknowledgement from the Office of the University Registrar. For Fall intake, all documents must be submitted by August 1. If they are not submitted by that date, your application will be closed and considered incomplete.
Original documents can be dropped off in person or mailed.
Police information check
The police information check that you provide must include a vulnerable sector search and be dated no earlier than June 1 of the year you will begin your studies. In other words, it must be issued no longer than three months prior to your intake date. This document is a mandatory condition of admission into the program.
Live in Edmonton
If you live in Edmonton, you can request a police information check with a vulnerable sector search through Edmonton Police Services.
Live outside Edmonton
If you are a Canadian citizen who lives outside of Edmonton, you can request a police information check with a vulnerable sector search through your local police agency or RCMP detachment.
International student
If you are an international student who has been in Canada for less than six months, a copy of your Study Permit fulfills this requirement.
If you have been in Canada for more than six months, request a local clearance using the information in the section above that is pertinent to your residence—either Living in Edmonton or Living outside of Edmonton.
First aid in child care certificate
After you have received your offer of conditional acceptance from the Office of the University Registrar, register in a first aid in child care program offered by one of the following approved training providers. Please ensure that the course you register in has the words "child care" in its title. This certificate is a mandatory condition of admission into the program.
International and out-of-province applicants
If you are an international or out-of-province student, please complete the courses in Alberta.

Choose the Standard Child Care First Aid and CPR course through the Canadian Red Cross.
St. John Ambulance - Canada
Choose the First Aid in Childcare course through St. John Ambulance.
