Study Options

Full time, Part time

The Social Work program is a two-year full-time course of study with two days a week being spent in an actual social service agency. It is also possible to complete the diploma on a part-time basis in the evening over a four-year period. It is sometimes possible to complete the first year of the program on a part-time basis before transferring into the day program as a full-time student for the final year.

After completing the first year of the part-time evening program it may be possible for students to transfer to the day program to finish their diploma.

 

Work/Study Balance

It is recommended that you limit your hours of employment while in the program so that you have the energy to undertake your studies and maintain a high Grade Point Average (GPA).

Planning Recommendation

As this is a rigorous program it would benefit you to try to complete at least some of the required non-social work courses (i.e. Arts electives) before beginning the program.
