"I was accepted into MacEwan's Social Work program at the age of 52. The experience has been wonderful, exciting, and stimulating. I had a second chance at a different career in an area I picked out just for me; I finally knew what I wanted to be when I grew up. The instructors in the program are very passionate about the program and this passion comes through in the way they teach. The way they teach brings about change. I have a better understanding of the world of oppression, abuse, and addictions, as well as hope, resilience, self-empowerment, and the willingness to change and grow."

"I always had a desire to help people in crisis, people with economic challenges, and be involved with social change within our community. The Social Work program provided the skills and confidence to be an effective social worker and counsellor. There is a definite sense of community within the Social Work faculty and student body. The instructors take the time to get to know you and are available for assistance with assignments and field placement concerns. You always feel supported at MacEwan."

"When I first enrolled in the Social Work program, I was a bit unsure of what to expect, and very uncertain of my skills in the field of social work. Now as a graduate of the program, I can proudly say that my confidence and social work skills are at a level that finds me fully capable of working in the profession. Without the excellent faculty and community of students, I know I would not be leaving the college with such amazing experiences, memories, and training."
