Post your #MacEwanBreak photos on Instagram and you could win
An entire week without classes. Five found days. One hundred and twenty hours. Just think of the possibilities—a sunny escape, a wintry break, catching up on Netflix, marathon sleep sessions or a chance to get ahead on assignments and papers.
Whatever your plans, we want to see how you’re spending your Reading Break. Post a photo on Instagram using #MacEwanBreak and you could win a MacEwan hoodie and your very own copy of the MacEwan Book of the Year, Station Eleven.
Need inspiration? Here are just a few destinations our students are getting ready to explore:
Ireland: Every year, Child and Youth Care students are invited to take part in an exchange with the Athlone Institute of Technology's Social Care program during the Winter Reading Break.
Vancouver Island: Nineteen Biological Sciences students are headed to the Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre. They’ll be hiking into the temperate rainforest, learning about bioluminescence and even conducting their own marine invertebrate experiments in the lab.
Toronto, Montreal and New York: Arts and Cultural Management students are heading to Toronto where they’ll learn about indie record labels and record stores, Montreal to investigate “art hives”—community-based art studios that offer informal places where all people are encouraged to make art together, and New York to research how virtual reality will affect the way we experience film festivals in the future.
London: The Fine Art Club of MacEwan University is off to London. While there, they might want to keep an eye out for the Griffins women’s soccer team who are also spending the break in England.
Now that you’re feeling inspired, get out there and do something great—and don’t forget to show us using #MacEwanBreak on Instagram.
