Each year, more than 100 teachers instruct and inspire upwards of 2,000 students at the Conservatory of Music. These students encompass a mosaic of interests and abilities, from professional musicians to anyone who simply wishes to explore their love of music.

The Conservatory of Music offers students an excellent combination of expert instruction and professional-calibre facilities. Students work alongside instructors who are exceptional performers and experienced pedagogues who understand the demands of musical performance. Lessons are offered year-round at all levels, styles and for all ages. From classical to contemporary, opera to jazz, students learn in a professional environment that respects their artistic talents and supports their aspirations.

The average lesson price ranges from $25-40 (30 minutes), $40-55 (45 minutes), $50-70 (60 minutes). We recommend booking at least four lessons.

Voice

Learn to sing opera, classical, musical theatre, jazz and contemporary styles. Voice lessons are available for beginner to advanced levels.


Piano

Learn piano from our diverse faculty. From classical to jazz and contemporary, electric keyboard, and pedagogy. Technique, theory, and performance; personalized private lessons will help improve upon your piano skills at all playing levels.

Strings

Learn and further your studies in violin, viola, cello, double bass, harp and guitar (classical, acoustic, electric and bass). Personalized lesson plans for various styles are available for beginner to advanced levels.


Woodwinds

Learn the flute, oboe, clarinet or saxophone. Lessons are available in both classical and jazz styles for various ages and levels.

Learn the trumpet, horn, trombone, euphonium or tuba. Various styles are available for beginner to advanced levels.


Drums and Percussion

Learn drum set, concert percussion or hand drums. Explore jazz, rock and classical stylings. Lessons are available for all ages and levels.

Musicianship and Theory

Learn rudiments, harmony, counterpoint, ear training, composition and history. Improve musicianship and stage performance, and prepare for music exams and create your own music by applying music theory to your practice.
