General Information

All the information you need to know to be part of the Conservatory. General information for both private lesson and classroom students.

Music Lesson Rates

  • Lessons can be 30, 45, or 60 minutes and are offered all year long, including through the summer. Lessons are offered daytime, evening and weekend and online/video conference lessons as well as small group instruction.

  • We recommend booking at least four lessons.

  • Lesson prices vary based on instructor, instrument, and the length of lesson. The average price ranges from $25-40 (30 minutes), $40-55 (45 minutes), $50-70 (60 minutes).

  • Inquire about specific rates when you request a teacher.

Instructor Referral Process

  • When you request a teacher, we will direct you to an instructor based on your specific interest and general availability. Once you make a request, we will forward your information along to one of our instructors who will connect with you directly to discuss their specific availability. 

  • Once you and the instructor determine a date, time, and number of lessons, call 780-633-3725 to register or learn more about the registration process.

Children at the Conservatory

  • We are glad to to be a part of children's musical education. We believe in providing the highest quality instruction in a safe and inviting atmosphere.

  • To help us make sure that your child has the best experience please ensure that your child arrives and departs safely and in a timely manner to and from lessons, workshops, festivals, and other special events.

  • Children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times. We do not assume any responsibility for the well-being and safety of minors who are left unattended on the campus.

Practice Rooms

  • Individual practice rooms are only available for Conservatory private lesson students only.

  • Rooms are located at the Alberta College Campus on the 4th and 5th floor.

  • Keys can be picked up and signed out at the Conservatory office (Room 511).

  • Keys must be returned daily. There is an after hours drop box located outside of the office if returning after hours.

Campus Security

  • Alberta College campus has security available on the main floor located in room xx.  

  • For LOST & FOUND or any evening/weekend facility access concerns, including practice rooms, please contact Campus Security at 780-497-5554

Homeschool Students

  • We welcome all home school students for private lessons and any of our courses or programs.

  • Contact your homeschool affiliation for details regarding funding support for music lessons.

Parking at Alberta College Campus


The Alberta College Campus surface parking lot entrance is found along MacDonald Drive.

MacDonald Drive is a one-way street running west from 100 Street to 101 Street and is one block south of Jasper Ave. This lot is shared with McDougall United Church.

Honk Mobile App

Parking payments at the Alberta College Campus can be made using the HonkMobile App with credit card or paypal. Download this app and fill in the required personal information before parking at the Alberta College Campus.

Discounted parking rates

Conservatory students who have registered for private instruction and/or weekly programs may be eligible for a discount on their parking rates. Please contact the Conservatory to see if you are eligible for a promotional code.

NOTE: Tow-away zone

DO NOT park on MacDonald Drive between 3 and 6 p.m. on weekdays. This is a city of Edmonton Parking towing zone that is frequently monitored.
