Travel, write, and get paid. Become familiar with the work of great travel writers to learn travel writing techniques, including style, the art of dialogue, setting a scene, and constructing a narrative arc. Explore how to integrate research with personal narrative to move beyond a memoir, and how to include larger themes into your work such as globalization, the environment, the dynamics of social class, ancient and modern politics, race and immigration, and issues of gender.
