With a background in social sciences and humanities, work experience in communications and holistic health and training in workshop/event facilitation, my path to becoming an Experiential Learning Facilitator has been a "long and winding road." I believe this road has given me insight into the many directions that students take on their paths to find meaningful and fulfilling work. I look forward to meeting you and to helping you along your career journey by connecting you with fellow students, faculty and community partners and by providing you with opportunities to apply your education in real-world environments.

I have been working in the career development field for over 11 years. With a background in teaching and advising in Canada and abroad, I love helping students find answers to the big questions about what they want to do with their life and career. In my role as Career Development Specialist, I meet individually with students, lead workshops and develop career education materials. I want students to understand what career education is, and how it can enhance, shape and make meaningful their learning experience at MacEwan University.

Since 2006, I have collaborated with faculty and community to build robust and sustainable experiential learning programming. As well, for 20 years I managed non-profits and developed social enterprises, experiences which bring a strong community lens to my work in experiential learning. I enjoy working with faculty to develop innovative ways to integrate experiential learning components into existing courses or to develop new courses crafted around experiential opportunities to build student competencies, skills and knowledge while building capacity in our community partners.

During my undergrad years, I have built my passion in the Human Resources Management field and I am consistently using my knowledge, experience and passion to provide comprehensive services and information resources that enable students to take active responsibility for their career decisions and job search. As an Events and Database assistant, my main role is to foster relationships with our community partners and employers that provide students with opportunities to develop professional skills, integrate academic learning with work and find jobs by coordinating a variety of recruitment events on campus.
