If you’re finding it difficult to keep your head above the crashing waves of homework and reading assignments – or if you just want to stay on top of the mountain of information crammed into your brain each class, we have help for you.

Writing and Learning Services

Consultants in Writing and Learning Services are standing by to help you and can educate you on how to become a strong learner, including ways to master your textbook.

Read about available services at MacEwan.ca/WLS.

Math/Stats Learning Centre

It may seem like it sometimes, but math doesn’t hate you. Nor do the faculty members in the Mathematics and Statistics department. In fact, they volunteer regularly in the Math/Stats Learning Centre (Monday through Saturday) to make sure you’re getting the help you need. Math is all about problem solving, and this learning centre is your solution.

Contact the department for scheduling.

Office hours

Talk to your profs one on one. Even if you’re not struggling, make sure you take advantage of the opportunity to discuss your education and career path with your faculty member; they may be able to provide you with the guidance you didn’t know you needed.

Office hours are typically provided in your course syllabus.

Tutors

But wait, there’s more! You can hire your own tutor. Whatever your discipline, there is someone out there who’s been there, done that, and has the knowledge to assist you with trouble areas. You can also tap into student clubs to find students willing to tutor, like the Aboriginal Students Club, Business Law, Latin Club, Mathematics Club and more.

Visit the SAMU Marketplace to find a tutor.
