Release the bees!

June 3, 2019 | Campus Life

“Something about bees is just so alluring,” says Amelia Altmiks, Bachelor of Arts student and one of MacEwan University’s volunteer beekeepers — and the rest of the MacEwan community definitely agrees.

MacEwan University celebrates Environment Week 2019.

The university started its urban beekeeping project in 2016 with a couple of hives on Building 5. Since then, the bees have been creating buzz, whether it’s because of our ongoing sustainability efforts or because the honey is just so delicious. In short, MacEwan loves bees!

So with the arrival of spring, check out this collection of photos from the hive unwrapping on May 16.
