Make new friends, connect with like-minded people, build your resumé, make a difference on campus or in the community—when you volunteer, your world gets a little bit bigger.
Doors open for volunteers. So, take that first step. Choose an event you want to support or a group on campus that shares your passion and offer to lend a hand.
Volunteers are an important part of MacEwan University's convocation ceremonies every June and November. While graduates excitedly don caps and gowns and proudly receive their degree, diploma or certificate in front of classmates and loved ones, volunteers ensure the day runs smoothly. You can lend a hand by greeting guests, assisting with gowning and guiding graduates through each moment of the ceremony.
Students in the top 15 per cent of their program are invited to join the Golden Key International Honour Society, where there are opportunities to grow and develop in academics, leadership and service.

During Open House, thousands of potential students and their families learn about MacEwan programs, meet with faculty members and explore City Centre Campus. As an Open House volunteer, you meet future students, share your experiences and provide direction to our excited—and sometimes overwhelmed—guests. A variety of positions are available.
The co-curricular record (CCR) is an official MacEwan document that recognizes the extracurricular activities you participated in as a MacEwan student. Bring the CCR to a job interview or attach it to an application. It will boost your resumé and CV and let potential employers know a bit more about you. Learn more about this university-recognized, accredited document in the CCR portal of MacEwanLife.
“I’ve made great connections with other students who volunteer. We feel like we’re contributing to MacEwan, to our city and to our own academic and social growth.”
