I have been a writing centre professional with MacEwan University for over ten years, and I am delighted to be a part of MacEwan’s learner-centred student support network. Writing centres offer a unique learning environment where students can engage in open and respectful discussions about their writing and a space where students can properly explore their academic voices and identities. I am passionate about helping students become capable and confident academic communicators.

I bring a wealth of experience in working with multilingual/L2/ESL writers in post-secondary institutions, and I have designed and facilitated multiple workshops on academic writing and public speaking. I am passionate about learning theories and online technologies, and I recently completed a certificate program in Adult Learning specializing in e-learning from the University of Calgary. In my role, I develop writing and communication supports for multilingual students that will allow them to develop their scholarly identities and research literacies.

I’m thrilled to be providing learner-centred writing and academic supports at MacEwan University. With my background in ethics and critical thinking and my newly-found passion for elearning, I am designing engaging online university-wide curriculum related to these topics. I mentor our amazing peer writing tutors who deliver crucial academic support. I create and deliver workshops that foster excellence in education. My doctoral research on habit change brings a fresh perspective on university transition programming, procrastination, time management and, more generally, learning environments.
