Make a difference in mental health care. Registered Psychiatric Nurses (RPN) play a crucial role in providing compassionate, evidence-based care in community mental health, child and adolescent psychiatry, the criminal justice system, and addiction care and treatment. This is your opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of others.
The Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing (BPN) is learner-centred, innovative and accessible. If you have a passion for psychiatric/mental health nursing and want to become a strong leader, this program is for you.
Flexible delivery
The Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing program provides flexible learning options. You can choose to complete a four-year degree, or you can exit with a diploma after two and a half years. You can also choose to start your studies at either our campus in Edmonton or at the Centennial Centre for Mental Health and Brain Injury in Ponoka.
Post-diploma applicants
The post-diploma degree in psychiatric nursing is not accepting applications at this time. A new post-diploma degree pathway will open for applications for Fall 2026.
