This internal grant supports Community Engaged Scholarship opportunities for MacEwan faculty and their community partners.

Community partners can be defined as any non-profit, for-profit or government organization that is outside academia. Community-engaged scholarship (CES) involves the faculty member in a mutually beneficial partnership with the community and results in scholarship exchange deriving from discovery, integration, application, engagement or teaching with the intent to impact scholarship, learning and community capacity.

This grant supports research that:

  • Directly addresses or responds to the needs of a community partner
  • Builds new or strengthens existing partnerships with community organizations
  • Increases opportunities for students to be involved in community engaged research

Applications must be co-developed with the community organization. The outcomes must include direct benefits to the community organization. All applications must have at least one MacEwan faculty, one community partner and one MacEwan undergraduate student.

Community Engaged Scholarship Grant Amount: $5000

Apply for the Community Engaged Scholarship Grant by following these steps:

  1. Log in to PeopleSoft.
  2. Choose the Research tile.
  3. Navigate to the My Grant Application page and select Community Engaged Scholarship Grant from the list of awards. Choose Start a New Application to begin a new application. Applications that have already been started can also be accessed from this screen.

Note: Community Engaged Scholarship Grant will only show up in the list when applications are open.
