DEPARTMENT of COMPUTER SCIENCE

Majors, Minors

Creative and analytical thinking, research and information management experience, clear and thoughtful communication—as a computer science student, you graduate with a full understanding of current technologies and trends and with the skills you need to realize your potential in the workplace.

You also gain hands-on experience helping community partners find the technology solutions they need. Our students have worked for a local web and mobile app development company, created a digital games table for the Edmonton Public Library, gathered and analyzed data for Edmonton Police Services—and so much more. Here, you learn by doing.

As a Bachelor of Science student, you can complete a major or minor in computer science or choose computer science as an area of focus within the mathematical sciences major. Computer Science is available as a minor within the Bachelor of Arts.

Complementary minors

Your computer science major pairs well with a number of minors: Digital Experience DesignStatisticsBusiness Studies.
