DEPARTMENT of INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS, MARKETING, STRATEGY and LAW
Experiential Learning
International study tours, projects with community partners, work-integrated learning opportunities, co-op placements—we offer a variety of hands-on learning experiences in our programs.
We believe in the value of learning by experience. You can apply what you learn in class to real-life situations, expand your network, connect with mentors and maybe even meet your future employer!
International business study tour
What better way to learn about international business than with international experience. A study tour allows you to examine doing business abroad from a cultural context.
Travel and Tourism practicum
In this work placement opportunity, you are supervised by a travel professional as you apply what you've learned in the classroom to real-world situations.
Paralegal Studies practicum
Generally taken in your final term of studies, this practicum gives you the opportunity to observe and work as a student intern. You gain invaluable experience in the field, which enhances your resumé and job prospects.
Bachelor of Commerce Co-ops
A co-op experience gives you hands-on experience that enhances your resumé and improves your job prospects. You have the opportunity to try out a particular career or workshop environment and to practice what you've learned in the classroom. All co-op students complete four co-op courses, in addtion to the required 120 credits needed to graduate from the Bachelor of Commerce.
When you major in marketing or international business, you have many opportunities to gain hands-on experience. When you finish your degree, you have spent time in the workplace, preparing you for your future career!
