CAREERS & EXPERIENCE
Co-ops & Field Placements
When you host a MacEwan student at your not-for-profit organization, private business, government department or industry-based enterprise, the talents they bring to the placement are impressive—as are the benefits to you and your organization.
Hosting our students helps you by:
- Raising the profile of your organization
- Assigning a dedicated person to complete specific tasks or projects
- Developing a pool of potential recruits with an awareness of your workplace culture and a specific set of skills/knowledge suited to your organization
- Strengthening partnerships with MacEwan University programs and services areas
- Creating staff development opportunities through student mentorship
At MacEwan University, over 30 programs provide students with Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) opportunities. These range from three-to-five-week placements to four-to-eight-month roles for students in Co-operative Education streams. Our students have participated as communications assistants during provincial elections, led program planning for live theatre venues and supported local start-ups with business planning.
If you'd like to learn more about the benefits of providing these types of opportunities, or if you'd like to host a student, please contact a Community Partnership Developer.
Does your business or organization have a challenge that our students can help you solve? Or maybe a project that could use more expertise? Partner with a course-based project where a team of students uses current theory and best practices to your benefit while gaining real-world experience in their field.
