BACHELOR of PSYCHIATRIC NURSING

Admission Dates and Deadlines

It’s always a good idea to apply early. You receive your admission decision sooner, and you have time to address any questions or problems that come up. After you apply, track your status and submit required documents by the deadlines.

Application deadlines for programs at MacEwan University are based on when you want to start your studies (the intake term). All of MacEwan University’s programs admit new students in the fall. Some programs offer additional intakes in the winter, spring or summer terms.

Check your deadline

The Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing offers you multiple entrance options. You may begin your studies at either the Edmonton City Centre Campus or at the Ponoka Centennial Centre for Mental Health and Brain Injury. If you already have a Psychiatric Nursing diploma, you are eligible to enter the program to complete a post‐diploma degree. Each entrance option has its own application deadline. Be sure to review your dates carefully.

MacEwan upgrading courses: July 31
Post-secondary courses: April 30

First-qualified, first-admitted programs

High school courses*: August 31
MacEwan upgrading courses: July 31
Post-secondary courses: August 31

*High school upgrading completed at other post-secondary institutions will follow the deadlines under “high school courses.”

Course completion deadlines may fall after document deadlines. While you have the opportunity to take courses and meet admission requirements prior to the start of a program, completing courses after the document deadline does not guarantee admission into a program or enrolment into courses, as space may be limited.

The university's Academic Schedule lists deadlines and other important information for the entire academic year. It is your responsibility to be aware of these dates and deadlines.
