From class to care
We’re here to support you throughout your time as a student. Whether you need a little help with coursework or just someone to talk to, there’s a service on campus that can help.
Academic and Career
Academic Advising Centre
Get answers to questions about applying, changing your program or planning your courses. Faculty‐based advisors are also available to offer support that’s specific to your program and goals.
Career Services
Explore your career options, get advice on building your résumé and develop your skills through workshops, events and volunteering. You’ll also have access to a job board —support doesn’t stop after you graduate.
The Writing Centre
Book in‐person or online appointments to get feedback on your assignments. Whether you’re brainstorming or polishing a final draft, the Writing Centre can help you sharpen your skills and submit with confidence.
Well-being
Physical and Mental Health Supports
All students can access medical services at the MacEwan University Health Centre. In‑person individual and group counselling are available through Wellness and Psychological Services, and peer support is offered at SAMU’s Peer Support Centre.
Safe at MacEwan
Student safety is our top priority. SafeAtMacEwan has information about 24/7 security services, how to access emergency assistance and support, and the Safe@MacEwan app, which sends important notifications to your device.
Access and Disability Resources
If you are a student with a disability, medical condition or other barriers to learning, we offer a variety of supports and accommodations such as in‑class support and exam services.
Office of Sexual Violence Prevention, Education and Response (OSVPER)
The OSVPER helps create and strengthen our culture of consent by raising awareness and providing learning opportunities on campus. It also offers support to anyone who has been affected by sexual violence.
Campus Community
MacEwan International
MacEwan International supports international students in achieving academic goals while on campus and researches and provides global learning opportunities for the university community.
Centre for Sexual and Gender Diversity (CSGD)
The CSGD supports research, teaching, service work and initiatives related to sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression on campus and in the community.
Office of Human Rights (OHR)
The OHR works to create a campus free from discrimination through learning opportunities, policy development, events and initiatives to promote equity and diversity. The OHR also supports students who experience discrimination on campus.
kihêw waciston
Meaning “eagle’s nest” in Cree, kihêw waciston is a home away from home for MacEwan’s Indigenous students. It offers personal, academic, financial and cultural support. Attend educational workshops, reflect through traditional practices and meet with Knowledge Keepers. This welcoming space is open to all students who are looking to learn in a respectful way.
