MACEWAN 50

TIME CAPSULE

100th anniversary time capsule.

As part of MacEwan's 50th anniversary celebrations, the university and SAMU (Students’ Association of MacEwan University) invited students, faculty and staff to contribute to the creation of a new time capsule.

These items reflect what was happening on campus and the world around us during our 50th year, and our hopes for the future.

This new time capsule will be filled and sealed this Fall and is scheduled to be opened on MacEwan’s 100th anniversary in 2071.

This gallery of five photos highlights some of the time capsule pieces. You can also view more pieces on display on campus over the next few months.

50th Anniversary Time Capsule

In 1993, the Students’ Association of MacEwan University (SAMU) assembled a time capsule and sealed it within Building 6, with instructions to open it during MacEwan’s 50th anniversary.

These contents offer a snapshot of campus life at that time, pay tribute to the institution’s roots and reveal a story of growth that continues today.

This gallery of 13 photos highlights some of the time capsule pieces.
