RESEARCH INSTITUTE for URBAN WELLNESS

Our Impact

We promote solutions that drive action and positively impact the lives of city residents—both locally and globally. Together with our partners, stakeholders, policy makers and community leaders, we develop and share effective strategies to improve urban well-being.

Our work is grounded in research and evidence-based reporting such as newsletters, fact sheets, databases and reports. Through these tools, we share our findings widely.

Fostering understanding and action on urban wellness
In May 2024, the Institute held its inaugural event, Fostering Understanding and Action on Urban Wellness. We brought together diverse voices through speakers, workshops and a student showcase.

The Green and Gold Garden

At the Green and Gold Garden, volunteers grow produce to sell locally and donate proceeds to support women’s empowerment in Rwanda. Our research explores how the garden fosters community, inclusivity and urban wellness.

Mapping city networks
The Transnational Governance of Urban Wellness in the Americas database tracks how cities collaborate across borders to improve urban wellness. From global networks to city partnerships, it highlights initiatives that drive change beyond national boundaries.
