Allard Equipment Centre

The Allard Equipment Centre gives Faculty of Fine Arts and Communications students access to the tools and equipment you need to bring your ideas to life.

It's your go-to spot for cameras, lighting, tablets, microphones, keyboard kits and more. You can sign out the gear you need—free of charge—to take your creative projects and coursework to the next level.

How to sign out equipment

You can sign out equipment using our online system called “Booked.”

Step-by-step tutorial for using Booked

After you’ve reserved an item, you can pick it up at the Allard Equipment Centre during business hours. Return the equipment to the service desk on or before the due date listed in your booking.

Note: The Allard Equipment Centre is available only to Faculty of Fine Arts and Communications students.

Borrowing basics

Borrowing is free and easy and can help you make your best work. To keep bookings fair and equipment in great condition for everyone, please note the following guidelines:

  • Loan times depend on the item. Check your booking panel for details.
  • Return equipment on time to avoid late fees ($1 per hour, per item).
  • Handle all equipment with care.
  • You are responsible for lost or damaged equipment, which may result in fines, temporary borrowing limits, replacement costs or a hold on your student account.
  • To request an equipment due date extension while the equipment is checked out, email allardequipmentcentre@macewan.ca.
  • Follow MacEwan’s Student Code of Conduct while using AEC equipment.

This equipment is a community toolkit—take what you need, use it carefully and return it in working order.
