Dr. Craig Kuziemsky is an experienced teacher, researcher, and administrator. He has developed and taught undergraduate and graduate courses and has an extensive record of student supervision at all levels. Prior to joining MacEwan in 2019 as Associate Vice-President Research, Dr. Kuziemsky spent 12 years at the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa where he held academic and administrative positions. From 2016-19 Dr. Kuziemsky was the University of Ottawa Research Chair in Healthcare Innovation. He was also awarded the University of Ottawa 2013 Young Researcher of the Year Award in the Social Sciences and Humanities.

Dr. Kuziemsky’ s research is in health systems management, specifically the design and evaluation of innovative approaches for the management of collaborative care delivery and health system transformation. He has published over 180 peer reviewed conference and journal publications, 8 book chapters, and has co-edited 6 books. Dr. Kuziemsky has been a part of over four million dollars of research funding including $500,000 as principal investigator. Dr. Kuziemsky has led international working groups in his discipline and in 2020 he was elected a fellow of the International Academy of Health Science Informatics.

Dr. Kuziemsky also holds the position of Associate, Vice-President, Research.

Sherif has been at MacEwan University since 2011, teaching in the Bachelor of Commerce program. He was the program chair for the Department of Accounting and Finance prior to his current role and is a leader in creating innovation teaching methods for the accounting and finance industry. His prior positions include being chair of accounting departments at different universities in Egypt and Saudi Arabia and teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as being a visiting professor at a University in Germany. With more than three decades of experience in both the academic and professional fields, he brings his expertise to this role.

Besides his academic career, Sherif is a partner of a managerial and financial consulting firm which is working in the Middle East (Egypt and the Gulf Countries). He also worked as a trainer delivering workshops in the field of accounting and finance at different universities and training institutes. He has published several books in the field of accounting; he has also published numerous research papers in peer-reviewed journals. He is a Certified Public Accountant in Egypt and associate member of Montana Society of Certified Public Accountants in the USA. He is also a Chartered Professional Accountant in Alberta.

Dr. Ali Taleb joined MacEwan University in 2012. Before his appointment as Interim Associate Dean of Business in July 2021, he served as Associate Professor at the School of Business where he taught strategic management, international business, sustainable business, and critical thinking.

Dr. Taleb’s research and scholarly work has been published in research outlets such as the International Journal of Cross-Cultural Management, Journal of African Business, and International Journal of Business and Emerging Markets. He has also co-edited and co-authored several research books, textbooks, and case studies. His work has been recognized by the Emerald Literati Award for Outstanding Author Contribution in 2018. He has also been a Best Seller Case Author with Ivey Publishing the same year. Furthermore, he is currently the Chair of the Strategy Division of the Administrative Sciences Association of Canada, the Chair of the Online Teaching Resources Committee at the Academy of Management’s International Management Division, and a Board Director at Net Impact Edmonton.

Dr. Taleb’s research and teaching are shaped by his extensive international exposure and practical business experience in senior management capacity as well as in management consultancy across Africa, Europe and North America. His formal education includes a PhD in International and Strategic Management (HEC Montreal, Canada), an MBA in General Management (Ivey Business School, Canada), and an M.Sc. in Telematics (University of Paris, France).
