Audit Courses

When you audit a course, you receive official permission to attend lectures on the understanding that you will not participate in class discussions, use equipment, complete assignments or take examinations, except at the invitation of the instructor.

Audited courses do not provide credits toward certificate, diploma or degree requirements. You can only audit one course per term. Not all courses are available to audit.

If you wish to audit a course, you must complete and submit the Application to Audit form:

  • You are responsible for completing Part 1 of the application form.
  • You need to arrange to have Part 2 completed by two parties:
    • The faculty advisor or instructor of the course, and
    • The program/department chair responsible for the course
  • Once both parts of the application are completed, submit the form to the Office of the University Registrar for processing and fee assessment.
The fee for auditing a course is generally 50% of the course tuition. Any applicable materials and activity fees will also be assessed.
Auditors of Courses Policy

The Auditors of Courses policy outlines expectations and regulations for auditing courses. This policy applies to credit courses only.
