STUDENT LOANS & GRANTS

loan agreements

After your application has been processed, you receive a student award letter and Master Student Financial Assistance Agreement forms (MSFAA). Your student award letter lets you know how much you’ve been awarded for the year.

New funding

Complete your loan agreement(s)

If it is your first time receiving either full-time or part-time funding, you must fill out and submit the Master Student Financial Assistance Agreement (MSFAA) for your funding to be released. If you are receiving both provincial and Canada student loans, you need to complete two agreements.

Follow the instructions in your student award letter to complete your agreements. You need to create an online account with both your provincial funding agency and the National Student Loans Service Centre.

Provide your banking information

You must complete the banking information section on your MSFAA documents. If you do not provide banking information, funding will be delayed.

Once your loan agreement has been processed, you receive applicable funds directly into your bank account, minus the amount that is sent directly to MacEwan to be applied towards tuition and fees. Provincial and Canada student aid funding may appear in your bank account on different dates.

Future funding

Unless you have a break in your studies or you apply for funding through a different province or territory, you should not need to complete loan agreements again in subsequent years.

Keep your contact information and your banking information up-to-date with both your provincial agency and the National Student Loans Service Centre.
