TUITION, FEES & PAYMENT
INTERNATIONAL COST ESTIMATE
Estimate the costs you can expect in a single term. If you take fewer than nine credits in a fall or winter term, you will be charged the international tuition rate for nine credits. Other costs will be charged based on the number of credits you enrol in.
Most courses are worth three credits and most programs consider fifteen credits a full course load for one term. You must take a minimum of nine credits to be considered a full-time student.
An academic year has three terms: Fall, Winter and Spring/Summer. The cost estimate is for a single term.
Cost of living in Alberta
As well as tuition and fees, you need to plan for the day-to-day costs of a student living away from home, such as food, accommodation and socializing. Print the cost-of-living table and include it with your study permit application.
Immigration status
If you require a Study Permit to study in Canada, are in Canada with other Temporary Resident status, or are a refugee/protected person claimant whose Notice of Decision is pending, you are deemed to be an international student when enrolled at the university and are subject to all policies and regulations applicable to international students. This includes the assessment of tuition and fees which are assessed at the international tuition rate.
Immigration status changes
If your immigration status changes after admission, you must notify the Office of the University Registrar (OUR) of the change and provide the necessary supporting documentation.

Tuition and fees will be assessed at the domestic tuition rate beginning in the academic term that the change in immigration status takes effect.
If notification and supporting documents are received by the OUR by last day to add or drop regular session classes, the change takes effect in the current academic term. If notification and supporting documents are received after the last day to add or drop regular session classes, the change will take effect in the next academic term.
