Aboriginal Commission on Human Rights and Justice

The Commission advocates for Aboriginal people in Alberta, researches human rights issues and initiates public education about human rights from the unique legal and historic position and relationship of Aboriginal people in Canada. ​

Canada’s Employment Equity Act

The purpose of this Act is to achieve equality in the workplace so that no one is denied employment opportunities or benefits for reasons unrelated to ability. The fulfillment of this goal will address the disadvantage in employment experienced by women, Aboriginal peoples, persons with disabilities and members of visible minorities.

Canadian Association for the Prevention of Discrimination and Harassment in Higher Education

CAPDHHE provides professional development, through an annual national conference, bi-annual newsletters and a website, regarding discrimination and harassment in the post-secondary sector. It also supports and disseminates research on discrimination, harassment and human rights.

Sikh Family Helpline

This Sikh Family Helpline is an initiative by the World Sikh Organization of Canada. It is a peer-to-peer non-emergency helpline servicing the Sikh Community in Canada in Punjabi and English. It is not a live call service; see “How it Works” for instructions. We do not provide counselling services as our line is currently only staffed by volunteers—however, we can direct you to the appropriate services providers in your area if necessary.
