Be proactive in maintaining your own mental health, volunteer to support others with their wellness, be a practicum student in our office. There are many ways to get involved on campus.
Peer Health Education Team (PHET)
Passionate about campus wellness? We're looking for student volunteers to join the Peer Health Education Team as Peer Health Educators. Volunteer shifts are from September to April. Applications open in March each year.
Coalition for Harm Reduction at MacEwan (CHARM)
The Coalition for Harm Reduction at MacEwan (CHARM) aims to create safer communities through harm reduction strategies. CHARM supports students through community engagement opportunities, such as attending harm reduction resource fairs, creating shareable resources, posting on social media, hosting events, facilitating educational sessions and advocating for harm reduction policies and action.

Social Work Practicum
Wellness and Psychological Services offers practicum training opportunities for master's level clinical social work students. Students are accepted for an eight-month placement (September to April).
Gain experience in individual therapy, case management, one-on-one supervision, group consultation and, in some cases, group therapy. You are supervised by a clinical social worker.
Apply through your institution’s Master of Social Work program. Contact us if you have questions about your placement.
Counselling Practicum
Wellness and Psychological Services offers practicum training opportunities for master’s level counselling students. Students are accepted for an 8-month placement (September to April).
Gain experience in individual therapy, one-on-one supervision, group consultation, and, in some cases, group therapy. You are supervised by a registered psychologist.
Apply by submitting your CV and cover letter to wps@macewan.ca by February 11 each year. Interviews are completed mid-February, and final decisions are made in early March. Contact us if you have application or placement questions.
Research Assistants
Wellness and Psychological Services engages in research projects throughout the year. If you are interested in post-secondary mental health, program evaluation or other mental-health related topics, contact us to learn about current opportunities.
