What do you do that contributes most significantly to your overall wellness?
Waking up early to come to the gym in the morning!
How or why did you start with it?
I started with it as a way to help myself work on body image.
How has MacEwan University Sport and Wellness helped you along the way?
Sport and Wellness has been my regular gym for six years now. The staff are friendly and kind.
What’s been your greatest challenge with it along the way?
COVID. When gyms closed it was really hard on me. Also waking up early always.
What‘s your favourite memory of this journey?
The first time I dedlifted two plates!
What are the two most significant gains you’ve made from doing this?
Strong mental resilience. Progress over perfection attitude.
What wisdom would you like to share with someone thinking about doing it?
Something is always better than nothing.
What’s next for you?
I work as an RN with streetworkers, so I plan to keep coming to the gym to cope with everything.
