A MacEwan alum, a current student and honorary chair of the university’s Distinguished Visiting Artist in Country Music campaign were among the winners at the Juno Awards presented on May 15 in Toronto, Ontario.

JESSIA (BMus ’18) was awarded Breakthrough Artist of the Year and was nominated for Single of the Year for "I'm Not Pretty," Pop Album of the Year for How Are You? and the Fan Choice Award. Watch the video of JESSIA accepting her Juno.

Friend of MacEwan Brett Kissel won Country Album of the Year for his 2021 album What Is Life? Kissell is the honorary chair of the university’s Distinguished Visiting Artist in Country Music campaign.
