Every year, Edmonton’s Edify magazine releases its Top 40 Under 40 – a list of the young Edmontonians who are making a name for themselves in our city. This year, seven of those 40 got their start right here at MacEwan University.
Building on lessons and experiences from their time at MacEwan, these alumni are now making waves, setting trends and leading the conversation in entrepreneurship, hospitality, leadership and community services in Edmonton.

James Grant
Public Relations ’13
James Grant is the owner of Gray Rabbit Bar and Beverage Consulting, where he works with teams to develop unforgettable cocktail menus and service experiences.
Bailey Oster
Bachelor of Arts ’17
Bailey Oster is a manager within the Youth Programs and Services Department at the Métis Nation of Alberta and is currently serving as the vice-president of New Dawn Métis Women’s Society. She also released her book Stories of Métis Women: Tales my Kookum Told Me in 2021.

Jenna Pryor

Jenna Pryor is the co-owner and senior designer at Plum Design, where she works with homeowners on thoughtful interior designs primarily in heritage homes. She also co-owns Plum Home, which provides high-quality, curated home goods.
Matthew Schur

Matthew Schur is the owner of the Old Red Barn, where he creates farm-to-table dining experiences highlighting the best that local producers have to offer.

Justin Yaassoub

Justin Yaassoub is a Canadian Special Forces veteran who now channels his passion for leadership into his business, All Around Consulting. He received MacEwan’s Distinguished Alumni Award in 2018.
