The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) and Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), two of Canada’s federal research funding agencies, recently announced their latest round of grant recipients.
Among the scholars who received federal funding are 20 MacEwan faculty members for research in disciplines ranging from biological sciences, mathematics and statistics to psychology and sociology.
“Once again, MacEwan has secured an impressive amount of tri-agency funding, which is essential to ensuring the continuous growth of research at our university,” says Dr. Craig Kuziemsky, associate vice-president, Research. “Faculty members are tackling important societal issues while also providing our students valuable research assistant experience. Of course, much of our research involves community partners of all types, helping to ensure our research is timely and relevant.
“Receiving this funding from NSERC and SSHRC shines a spotlight on the excellent scholarship being done by these faculty members and the continued growth of research at MacEwan. Congratulations to all these colleagues on their achievements. I look forward to seeing the impacts of their work.”
