On November 18, we celebrated more than 800 MacEwan graduates who crossed the stage at the Winspear Centre with ceremonies, stories and, of course, many photos.
Take a look back at the many ways we marked the accomplishments of the fall class of 2025.
Meet the class

Get to know some of our incredible graduates from every faculty as they reflect on how they found their programs, their favourite projects and the people who helped them reach the finish line in the Fall 2025 Convocation installment of our “meet the class” story.
Awards and honours

President’s and Dean’s medals
Sahiba Pahwa, recipient of the President’s Medal for Academic Excellence and Student Leadership, spoke to her fellow graduates at both ceremonies. An additional 10 grads were recognized for their hard work and dedication with Dean’s Medals for Academic Excellence.
Teaching awards

In each ceremony, MacEwan’s 2025 Teaching Leadership Award recipients, Robert Andruchow and Dr. Melissa Hills, were presented with their awards.
Honorary doctorate

Dr. Bryan Edward Kolb, who has been recognized nationally and internationally for his groundbreaking work in advancing understanding of the human brain, was presented with a Doctor of the University honorary degree and shared remarks as part of the afternoon ceremony.
New chancellor

Chancellor Gary Mar officially opened his first convocation in his new role. “Of all the responsibilities within MacEwan that I have the privilege of holding, Convocation is the most meaningful,” he said. “Standing here, sharing in your achievements and celebrating the wonderful milestone is one of my greatest honours.”
Our newest alumni
mostos, by Jane Ester Henderson, is the alumni gift for MacEwan’s class of 2025.
Our newest alumni joined the MacEwan alumni family – now over 93,000 strong – and were gifted with a print of mostos, an original artwork created by second-year Bachelor of Fine Arts student Jane Ester Henderson.
