The MacEwan English Student Conference (formerly Reading Identity), is student-organized, focusing on English literature and creative writing.

Attendees participate in lively academic conversations and network with students and faculty from MacEwan and other universities.

Volunteers fill a variety of positions, including email coordinator, social media coordinator and program designer. All volunteers, no matter the role they play prior to the conference, assist with set up, organization and clean up on the days of the conference. 

Prospective volunteers are interviewed for the specific position(s) they apply for, usually in October. The conference typically takes place the following term in February.
