Explore. Learn. Act. Rooted in connection, care and shared responsibility, the Human Rights Learning Series focuses on issues that shape our campus and community. We invite you—MacEwan students, staff and faculty—to join us and to honour our place in O-day’min.
Why participate?
Connect with fellow students, staff and faculty members in a series that explores human rights, accessibility and social justice in real and practical ways. Through workshops and conversations, you gain knowledge that you can use on campus and beyond MacEwan’s doors:
- Understand concepts such as equity, discrimination and belonging.
- Navigate campus and community supports.
- Participate in respectful conversations that challenge assumptions and build empathy.
You are invited to propose and lead a session in the learning series. Submit your idea and describe the support you need to make it happen. We review all submissions and get back to you ASAP.
Do your work, research or personal interests engage with human rights, equity, diversity or inclusion initiatives? If so, you can connect with like-minded students, staff and faculty in the SHARE Community of Practice.

O-day’min is the Anishinaabe word for strawberry or “heart berry,” symbolizing connection, care and collective well-being. Just as O-day’min represents the heart of a community where every part matters, the Human Rights Learning Series gathers people together to deepen understanding, strengthen dialogue and build sustained responsibility for belonging and respect across MacEwan.
